The Scheveningen pier
The biggest pier in the Netherlands is located in Scheveningen.
There are a few souvenir shops and restaurants on it.
This pier is about 54 years old and it’s been through a lot : bankruptcy, renovations and fire.
It’s been on sale for a long time now, but no one wants to buy it.
There are also a lot of different ideas about what it should be in the future.
Yesterday I went to Scheveningen with my younger sister and we were suprised that it’s still open for the public.
Big pieces of boardwalk have disappeared, a lot of glass windows are shattered and the pier is supported by a steel construction.
If you could buy the pier, what ideas whould you have for it ?
I hope that someone buys it, because it whould be sad if it needs to be demolished.

Het was inderdaad wel leuk/interessant om al die foto’s te maken, maar ik hoop dat er snel een oplossing komt.
De pier houdt het denk ik niet nog een paar jaar vol, die zakt gewoon in op een dag.

By the way, how to pronounce “Scheveningen” ? —– This name is quite famous among Japanese tourists,
as its sound like “Skebe-ningen” = Sex-maniac in Japanese meaning. 😀
